1-Weather: Weather can cause ice and snow accumulation on your windshield, which can eventually cause it to break. Windshields that are cracked or have tears in them are also at a higher risk for water damage from weather events.

2-Construction: Construction vehicles use large metal pipes that can crush your car's windshield if they hit it from the side or rear.

How Auto Glass Replacement Works?

Auto glass replacement is a common repair. Many drivers have had to replace their windshield at some point in their vehicle’s life. The good news is that it’s not very difficult to do, and you can save a lot of money by doing it yourself. Here are the basics of auto glass replacement:

1. Check your car’s warranty. Most dealers will offer you a free replacement if your car has a warranty. If your car doesn’t have a warranty, or you just want to save some money, you can still replace the window yourself.

2. Get the right tools. You’ll need a jack, lug wrench, and ratchet set for this project.

3. Remove the window panel(s). To remove the panel, unscrew the four screws holding it in place and pull it forward until it snaps off of the doorframe. Be careful not to damage the wires that run behind the panel!

4. Remove the old window glass and adhesive with a clean dry cloth or vacuum cleaner. Be sure to wear gloves and avoid getting any dust or dirt on the new glass. If there is any adhesive left on the old glass, use an adhesive remover such as acetone or nail polish remover to gently wipe it off. Let the area dry completely before installation of the new glass.
